Weight watchers wor.k low carb dessert recipes
I have tried both. I did Weight Watchers about 6 years ago, and I am on Nutrisystem now. I lost about 25 lbs. on WW, but I was also training vigorously for a cycling event, so my exercise credits were off the charts, and I could eat a lot more than on the basic program. I am losing weight on Nutrisystem as well, but results are still in progress. I chose Nutrisystem because I needed to do something, and frankly, I saw their ad and it seemed so easy I just decided to try it. Of the two programs I far preferred Weight Watchers, and I may go back as soon as I get rid of all the lousy food in my pantry and freezer. Ill break my comments down into a few different areas Program structure WW uses a point system, and the bottom line is that NS counts calories. As a 6′0″, 230 lber., NS wants me on a 1,500 calorie diet. The comparison is a bit tough, but I felt more comfortable worng within the WW point system. WW gives you the option of an Online Plus program, which includes the app and some support. This is in addition to the meal programs. NS only offers meal programs, so you have to order their food to be on the program. Their minimum commitment is pretty substantial WW starts at under $8/week for just the app and support. WW is open format with respect to how many meals, size, and composition, as long as you stay within the total point count for the day. NS wants you to eat 3 meals and 3 snacks, with prescribed additions for the meals — Powerfuels protein and Smart Carbs. Vegetables, spices, and some co.ndiments are free. I didnt find their structure matched my eating habits. WW gives you a point allowance for exercise, which encourages you to wor.k out so you can reward yourself. NS lets you track exercise and calculates calories burned very suspect, but it doesnt give you any extra food. If you bicycle 50 miles and have a Gatorade you are in the hole for 10pc of your daily calories. PROGRAM ADVANTAGE Weight Watchers App Both programs include a tracking app. WW just has you look up your foods and enter them to calculate points and track your daily total. I found their list of foods to be quite complete, including chain rtaurant menus and common prepared foods. NS has you code all of the food they send you under the program, and enter your supplemental food in their prescribed meals and food categories. Any additions that are not in their prescribed list of Powerfuels and Smartcarbs have to be added separately as Flex Meals. I found their list of foods to be limited, and overall I find coding my actual meals in their app to be cumbersome. APP ADVANTAGE Weight Watchers Food I did a full monthly order of the NS most popular items, so I got their full variety. I did the app only on WW, so I am really comparing NS to my own cooking, which is pretty good, if I say so myself. I cant comment on the WW food program, but their prepared meals are generally available, and they have a wide variety in the same calorie range as the NS meals. A lot of the NS meals are just plain bad. I had a flatbread tonight that was just a piece of cardboard with some over processed cheese product and a tablespoon or two of bland sauce. A sample lunch might be a small protein bar or a plastic cup of dried chili that you add water and nuke for a minute. I suppose if you customize the menu instead of ordering the standard package you might avoid the real losers, but overall it seems easier and probably less expensive to pick the things you like at the grocery store from the variety of prepared diet foods that are available e.g. Lean Cuisine. Another factor is how well you cook. Its worth noting that NS only provides about half to 2/3 of the prescribed calories, so you still have to add your allowed additions plus all of your vegetables. If you are a good cook you can get creative with the additions and make a vegetable stew with a little bit of sausage or ham over a modt portion of rice. If you cant cook you can have a couple of ounces of turkey breast on a slice of bread with mustard, no mayo. If you cant cook maybe nuking a frozen turkey and cheese omelet seems co.nvenient. If you can cook, a fresh one egg omelet with a little cheese and/or meat is much better. As a good cook and a retiree with time on my hands, I found the be part of my meals to be the parts I cooked myself, and the worst parts to be the NS prepared meals. If you cant cook and cant make the most of your veggies and additions, staying on the NS plan is not going to be tasty or delicious. FOOD ADVANTAGE Weight Watchers Other factors There are a couple of other things that are general comments that, to me at least, favored WW. Maybe it is a function of the program structure and the app, but i feel like NS focuses on mass produced, frozen and dried, processed foods. Every day you are going to eat a lot of their indust
