Beef in onion gravy a delicious dish for that easy dinner .

-450g Beef chuck steak
-3/4 Of a medium onion
-2 tbsp Sweet chili
-2 tbsp Soy sauce
-1 1/2 tsp Plain Flour though ( I used my Brown flour thickener
-1/2 tsp Salt
-1/4 tsp Black Pepper
-1/2 tsp Cumin
-1 tsp Garlic Powder
-3 tbsp Cooking oil for frying the beef
-2 tbsp Cooking oil for frying the onion
-1 1/2 Cup water


6 Cups of precooked basmati rice
150g Button mushrooms
3/4 tsp Thyme
1/2 tsp Garlic powder
A bit of black pepper
1 tsp Dry spring onion
3 tbsp Oil

-In a pan place 3 tbsp oil heat on medium for a 40 seconds, add the chopped mushrooms fry for 1 minute, add garlic powder, thyme, black pepper, salt, mix well cook for 1 minute, add the spring onion and rice mix well and cook for 3 minutes turn off the heat and keep aside.

-Line the chopping board with cling wrap, place the beef and then cover it with cling wrap thereafter tenderize the beef by beating it with a meat pounder, cut into thin slices 6cm long and 1/2cm thick and set aside.

-In a big bowl put soy sauce, sweet chili, cumin, black pepper, salt, plain flour though (I used my brown flour thickener), 1/2 cup water, 1 tsp garlic powder, mix well, and then add the beef and stir , cover and set aside.

-In the meantime chop the onion into strips slightly thick, keep aside, there after put 3 tbsp oil in a pan heat on high to medium, add the beef cook for 5 minutes, remove the beef and sauce from the pan and put in a plate, in the same pan add 2 tbsp oil add onion fry for 7 minutes on medium to low heat, add 1 cup water cook for 3 minutes, add the beef to the onion, cook for 4 minutes.

-Serve with mushroom rice and a salad, enjoy.
