Today’s Recipe is delicious Indian dessert recipe ,here are the ingredients & method
Ingredients
1 & ½ litres of milk
½ cup of sugar
1 tsp cardamom /elaichi powder
A few strands of saffron (optional if you want a saffron/kesari colour,if you want
A plain white colour then skip this step)
1 tbsp of vinegar/lemon juice
Method
Boil 1 litre of milk,when it begins to boil add the vinegar or you could use lemon /lime juice .The milk will curdle/split..cook for 1 minute,then strain over a muslin cloth as shown in the video,keep a heavy weight over the cloth and keep it aside for 30 mins.After 30 mins transfer to a bowl and crumble..this is your paneer/Indian cottage cheese..Alternatively you could use readymade paneer(1 cup crumbled)
In another pan add the ½ litre of milk and boil ,then cook it till reduces to half ..add the cardammon/elaichi powder ,saffron strands(optional),sugar..and stir well.Now add the crumbled paneer,Keep on stirring till the mixture thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan as shown in the video.Grease a tray with some ghee/clarified butter,transfer the mixture to this tray & flatten to an inch thickness,sprinkle with chopped nuts,refrigerate for 1-2 hours
Cut into squares & Enjoy….
