Ingredients Chicken Preparation:
Ghee 2 tbsp.
Onion (sliced) 1/2 cup
Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp.
Water 1/2 cup
Desi Chicken 1/2 kg
Black pepper powder 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Water 2 ½ cups

Ingredients for Garam masala sachet:
Garlic pods 4
Coriander seeds 1 tsp
Cinnamon stick 1
Bay leaf 1
Muslin cloth

Ingredients for Yakhni Preparation:
Water 2 L
Salt 1/2 tbsp.
Black pepper powder 1 tsp
Cumin (crushed) 1 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Chicken cube 1
Slurry (cornstarch + water) 1/4 cup + 1/2 cup

Directions for Chicken Preparation:
1. Heat ghee in a pot, add onion and cook until slightly brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook until it’s brown in color.
2. Add water and cook for 2-3 minutes on medium-low flame.
3. Add chicken and cook until it changes color. Add black pepper, turmeric and cook for 2 minutes.
4. Add water, give it a good mix. Cover with lid and let it cook on medium-low flame until water dries out.
5. Remove the lid and cook chicken for 2-3 minutes. Take off flame and set aside.
Directions for Garam masala sachet preparation:
6. Take a muslin cloth, add garlic pods, coriander seeds, cinnamon stick, and bay leaf and make a sachet. Your garam masala sachet is ready.
Directions for Chicken Yakhni Preparation:
7. In another pot, heat water and bring it to a boil. Add salt, black pepper, cumin, turmeric, chicken cube, and boil for 7-10 minutes over medium flame.
8. Add the prepared chicken into this broth. Mix well and let cook on low flame for 10-15 minutes.
9. Add slurry while stirring continuously and cook until slightly thickened.
Note: Yakhni should not be as thick as soup
10. Transfer to the serving bowl, top it with boiled eggs, black pepper, and serve hot.

Cooking time: 40-45 mins
Serving: 6-8
