Sugar Syrup
1 cup water
2 cups sugar
1/2 tbsp lemon juice
2 inches cinnamon stick
Boil for 8 to 10 mins and let it cool down completely.
Phyllo Dough
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
A pinch of salt
3 tbsp melted butter
1/2 cup milk (approx)
Mix all the above ingredients and knead the dough until it stops sticking to the bowl.
Cover & let the dough rest for 13 mins.
Filling
1/2 cup walnuts
1/2 cup pistachios
1/2 cup almonds
Coarsely grind the nuts or chop
Method:
Knead the dough again and make a tube shape, divide the dough equally.
Roll the dough as thin as possible and brush a good amount of melted butter. fill the grounded nuts.
Roll that with a thin rolling pin, push and gently slide the baklava.
once everything is ready, grease the baking tray and place the baklava. Apply some melted butter on them.
Bake 150 C for 30 to 50 mins. Poke them using a fork and pour the sugar syrup. garnish with some nuts.
Let them sit in the sugar syrup for 5 to 6 hours.
