Would the Terminator Drink These Jello Shots?


While most of the Terminator franchise leans action sci-fi, the original terminator has many elements of the slasher genre. One of our favorite scenes is when a busted, bloodied terminator removes his eye to reveal the bright red cyborg eye, an iconic image of the franchise. So on today's episode of Halloween Horror Helpings, we decided to take that iconic bright red cyborg eye and turn them into jello shots! The Yum Academy on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/the.yum.academy The Yum Academy on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheYumAcademy The Yum Academy on Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheYumAcademy The Yum Academy on Tik Tok: https://www.tiktok.com/@the.yum.academy Recipe: 1 cup raspberry lemonade 3/4 cup vodka 1 packet gelatin powder 2 cans lychee 1 1/4 cup lychee syrup (from can) ½ cup rasberries 1 tsp red foor coloring 1 tablespoon corn starch and 1 tablespoon water 1. Blend 1 can lychee with 1/4 cup of lychee syrup. 2. Pour blended lychee on cheesecloth and bowl. Squeeze out as much lychee juice as possible. 3. Pour 1 packet of gelatin powder on strained lychee juice. Set aside and let it bloom for at least 5 mins. 4. Pour 1 cup raspberry lemonade in medium sauce pan and bring to boil. 5. Pour boiling raspberry lemonade over gelatin mixture and stir to its dissolved. 6. Add in 3/4 cup vodka and 1/2 teaspoon food coloring and whisk together. 7. Fill plastic cups about 1/4 an inch. Set in fridge for an hour. 8. Open another can lychee. Fill lychee with raspberries. 9. Take out chilled jello cups and put raspberry lychee eyeballs in each cup. Fill each cup just enough so eyeball is sticking out. Set in fridge and let it chill for 4 hours. 10. In a sauce pan fill with 1 cup lychee syrup. Add in slurry mixture consisting of 1 tablespoon water and 1 tablespoon corn starch. Bring to a simmer till syrup thickens enough to coat back of a spoon. Add in 1/2 teaspoon red food coloring and whisk together. Set aside and let it cool. 11. After 4 hours, take out jello shots and spoon on lychee syrup mixture. Keep refrigerated till ready to serve.
