Kutsinta Recipe (Filipino Steamed Rice Flour Dessert) Recipe for Kutchinta


Kutsinta is a type of sweet dessert made out of steamed tapioca starch and flour with freshly grated coconut meat for topping. This is one of the most popular snack or pasalubong in the Philippines. Here are the ingredients in making this Kutsinta Recipe: 1½ cup dark brown sugar 1½ cup all-purpose flour ½ cup tapioca starch 1 tablespoon annato seeds, soaked in 2 tablespoons water 1 tablespoon lye water 3 cups water silicone molds steamer Here are the Procedures on How To Make Kutsinta: 1. In a bowl, combine the dark brown sugar, tapioca starch, and all-purpose flour. Mix well. 2. Then add the water gradually while stirring it in the mixture until its all used up. 3. Add the annato seed water and then continue to mix well. 4. Add the lye water then mix well. 5. Put mixture into the silicone molds. 6. Steam for 50 minutes to an hour. 7. Remove from steamer then allow to cool for at least 5 minutes. 8. Remove kutchinta from molds then garnish with grated coconut on top before serving. Serve and Enjoy.
