Hey there, it’s Aviva Goldfarb, and I am going to show you how to do a sugar cleanse in a healthy and effective way and how to make the most delicious, refreshing, and filling green smoothie recipe that you’re going to love.
I get it. We ate too much during the holidays and overdid it—too much sugar, too much bread, too much cake, too many cocktails—I did too. Come January, after the holidays and all the parties and all the madness are over, I feel pretty gross. And I know a lot of you do, too. So I have been leading a sugar cleanse in January through a Facebook group, and I’ll post the address for it below in case you want to join us, for thirty days to get added sugars out of our diets and to really clean up our diets in a healthy way and add healthy things like exercise and plenty of fluids, drinking smoothies, all of those things that are going to make us feel really good. So if you’re feeling bloated, gross, or just not happy about your energy levels, or your pants aren’t fitting right, I hope you will join us.
So I am going to start by showing you a really delicious, easy smoothie. This is the kind of thing you might want to drink for breakfast to start your day every day or a snack in the afternoon to fill you up with the really good stuff, which will help you resist the stuff that we don’t need to be eating right now. We are going to make a cucumber, mango, lime elation—something like that—with cucumbers and greens, and I always add some fresh herbs and some lime, and some mango, pineapple, chia seeds, which have a lot of fiber and will help fill us up, and for your liquid, you can use no-sugar-added—don’t get sweetened—Kefir or almond milk, make sure it’s unsweetened, again, look at the front of the box, or coconut water. You can even just use regular water, if you prefer.
As you can see, I made enough for my whole family. So it’s just as easy to make for as it is to make one when you’re making smoothies, and then I just stick them in the fridge, and whoever’s home will have one later, and then I know everyone in my family’s being nourished. Or I can always save it for myself tomorrow if there’s any left over, you can just re-blend it with a little bit of ice. If you want some healthier and longer lasting fats to help keep you full for longer as a meal replacement, you can definitely add half of an avocado, a couple tablespoons of almond butter would be really good in there too and they both would also help make it even thicker and creamier. But this is so refreshing and delicious, and it’s going to help curb those sugar cravings after the holiday so you can really focus on nourishing your body.
So let’s see how it tastes. Mm, I don’t know why I don’t make these every day. I really should make these every day, and I’m going to in January, for sure! So, I hope you’ll join me for the sugar cleanse in January, starting January first, or second if you’re still partying on January first. On Facebook, check out the address below.
