Healthy Smoothie Recipes


Hi Guys, Happy New Year! I thought it would be nice to start the year off with some healthy smoothies. Let me show you how I make these three delicious and healthy smoothies. These healthy smoothie recipes are filled with nutrients to help your body stay strong!

Use organic kale, it already comes washed, cut and ready to use, so there is no work involved. I’ll put in about a cup of kale. We need something sweet with the kale, so I’m using ½ cup of frozen mango chunks. When mangoes are in season and at the peak of sweetness, I buy extra and freeze them in bags so I can use them when they are not in season. I’m also adding one banana and a cup of water to blend. That took less than 30 seconds. Here’s our gorgeous green smoothie. It’s bright and smooth. I’ll taste it, it’s sooo good. I’ll show you how smooth it is, how creamy.

For this smoothie, we’ll be using spinach leaves. It comes already washed in a bag. I’ll use about a cup packed. This is a half of an english cucumber, I like to use these in smoothies because there are no big seeds and you can leave the thin skins on. 1 medium carrot, mine were small so I’m using 2 little ones. ½ cup of whole yogurt. Some water to blend, you can use ice. I don’t like my drinks freezing cold so I tend to use water instead of ice.
Look at that beautiful light green color. This is very mild and easy to drink.
I’ll use two medium tomatoes, about a cup. You can use tomatoes on the vine, cherry tomatoes, whatever looks good. 1 medium carrot, half of an english cucumber, a small piece of red onion, you don’t want to overpower the drink with too much onion. For heat, a small piece of serrano pepper, you can substitute hot sauce if you’d like, fresh flat leaf parsley, it’s still growing in my garden even though it’s winter. Parlsey is a very hardy herb. Some fresh lemon juice, and a little salt to taste. I’ll add a bit of water, otherwise it’ll be too thick. Mmm, this is my favorite of the three. There’s enough salt, a little heat from the fresh pepper and it really does feel like you’re drinking a vegetable juice. The tomato flavor is dominant but not overpowering, hint of onion, the carrot gives it a bit of sweetness, overall an enjoyable savory smoothie. Here are our three delicious smoothies.

The spinach smoothie is the easiest smoothie to drink quickly and go. The tomato smoothie is packed with flavor from all the different vegetables. The Kale smoothie is a nice balance of the strong kale and sweet fruit. These three smoothies look and taste delicious. They are so healthy and packed with vitamins from the fresh organic produce. This is a great way to start your New Year!
