Thank you, Monique xo ------------------------------------------------------------------ Best Homemade Chicken Pot Pie Recipe | How to make the Best Chicken Pot Pie Ever from Scratch Ingredients for the pie crust 1 1/2 cups of FLour 1 pinch Salt 1 pinch of Cayenne Pepper optional Mix by hand 1/3 cup Shortening, make sure it is old 1/3 cup Butter, make sure it is cold Mix with fork or pie fork. Add 1 tsp White Vinegar Mix Add 1/4 cup of cold water, 1 tbsp at a time Mix and form into 2 balls. 1 is larger than the other. Wrap in saran wrap, and place in the fridge for at least 1/2 hour up to 2 days. Ingredients for the filling In a pot add 2 Medium Potatoes cut into cubes 1 large Carrot cut into cubes 2 cups Water 1 cube of Chicken Broth Cook until done. Drain broth into a measuring cup, and set aside the broth and the vegetables. In a frying pan add 1 chopped Onion 1 chopped Celery Olive Oil Saute for 5 minutes Add 1 lb Chicken Salt Garlic powder Parsley Pepper Set aside once done. Béchamel Sauce or White Sauce To a large pot add 2 tbsps Butter 2 tbsps Flour Cook until golden brown Add Broth 2 cups Milk Cook until It becomes thick. Once done, add vegetable and meat filling to the sauce and mix. Assembly Roll out your bigger pie crust first in between 2 saran wraps. Once rolled out, add to pie plate. Add filling. Roll out the smaller pie crust, and place on top of the filling. With a knife make a whole in the center of the top pie crust, so air can escape while cooking.
