Bengali Kosha Mangsho | Bengali Chicken Curry Recipe


This is a Bengali style Chicken curry which usually finds in Kolkata, and it is typical Kolkata style chicken curry which uses lot of spices and oils to make it rich and tasty.

Usually this is been taken with Roti/Tandoori Roti/Nun/Kulcha/Rumali Roti etc.

INGREDIENTS:
Chicken – 300 gms,
Onion – 2 large, finely chopped,
(Tomato – 1, Garlic- 10-12 and Ginger – 1inch) paste mix – 1/2 cup,
Kashmiri Red Chilli powder – 1 tbsp,
Cumin powder – 1 tsp,
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp,
Garam Masala powder – 1 tsp,
Salt to taste,
Mustard Oil – 2 -3 tbsp,

METHOD:

Marinate the Chicken With Cumin powder, Salt, Turmeric powder and Kashmiri Red Chilli powder, Keep a side for 30-45 mins.

Heat the oil add onion fry it till light golden, then add Tomato mixture and cook it for 5-6 mins.

Add Chicken mix nicely, cook for 10-12 mins in medium flame.

Put little of water and again cook for 5-6 mins,

When oil started coming from the gravy, add little more water and cook it for another 5-6 mins.

Before switch off the flame add Garam Masala powder.

Serve hot.
