This chicken karahi gets ready in less then 30 minutes and tastes exactly like the chicken karahi that we eat in restaurants and dhabas.
Recipe:
1 medium chicken ( cut in small pieces)
1 cup oil
1 cup ginger garlic water ( blend 8 cloves if garlic and 2 inch piece of ginger with a cup of water)
Salt to taste
1 tsp karahi masala or red chilli flakes
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp crushed black pepper
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp kasuri methi ( dried fenugreek leaves)
8 medium tomatoes. Cut in halves
1 tbsp ginger julienne
4 green chillies
Handful chopped coriander leaves
Take oil and heat it very well. Fry chicken in it until it's proper brown on both sides. Add ginger garlic water slowly and keep frying on high heat. Add all spices except kasuri methi and fry on high heat. Place tomatoes on top of chicken with the skin side up. Cover for 10 minutes and cook on medium high heat.
Take the skin off tomatoes and mix them very well. Keep cooking on high heat until the oil comes on top of gravy.
Place green chillies, ginger julienne and coriander leaves and cover for 5 minutes.
