School resumption often comes with an unexpected visitor — school cough, catarrh, and cold symptoms, especially in children. If you’re a parent, you’ll understand how easily kids pick up coughs and runny noses once they return to school and start mixing with other children. In this short video, I’m sharing a warm wellness drink we use at home during this season for comfort and support.
This drink is made with simple, everyday ingredients: sliced onions, lemon, ginger, garlic, cinnamon sticks, and cloves, all added to water and allowed to boil together for about 10 minutes. The warmth of this drink makes it especially comforting during cold seasons, helping to soothe dry cough, loosen mucus, and ease sinus and chest discomfort.
In my home, this has been helpful for both adults and children, particularly when cough and catarrh start shortly after school resumes. Instead of reaching for antibiotics at every mild symptom, we sometimes turn to this general wellness option as part of our routine care. For kids, it can be sweetened lightly with honey and should always be served warm.
Please note that this is a general wellness drink, not a replacement for professional medical advice or treatment. Always observe symptoms closely and seek medical care when necessary, especially for persistent or severe conditions.
