SPRING IS OFICIALLY HERE! Get those grills prepped and ready because it's spring grilling season baby!
Seasoning is an important part of the bbq process that helps make your life a whole lot easier in the long run by:
-providing a nonstick finish
-preventing rust
-removing contaminants and odors
-ensuring overall longevity of your grill/smoker
Here's what our friend @certified.creole.bbq did to get his Char-Griller Barrel Pro (available exclusively at @walmart!) ready for the season:
• Opened the grill hood and sprayed both sides of the cooking grates and inside the hood with cooking spray oil.
• Filled a charcoal chimney with lump charcoal.
• Lit the lump charcoal using two fire starters and a fire torch.
• Let the lump charcoal fire up for 15 minutes.
• Placed the cooking grates back in place.
• Closed the lid and opened the top smoke stack to and opened the side damper all the way.
• Maintained a target temperature of 400° - 450°.
• Let it run for two hours, grates and lid darkened, contaminants and odors removed.
• The Barrel Pro is now seasoned and ready for BBQ action!
