So this is my healthy recipe for a fruity, high protein vegan smoothie ideal for summer. The ingredients include:
- 1 medium banana (or two small ones)
- 80g of frozen fruit (pineapple, mango and papaya)
- 250 ml of coconut water
- 1 tablespoon of chia seeds from Bulk Powders
- 2 scoops of VeganSmart vanilla protein
As always, the ingredients were all blended up into a super smooth consistency using my trusty Nutri-Ninja blender! I actually have a new 900 ml cup for my Nutri Ninja this week so I could stuff extra ingredients into it!
This recipe tastes ice cold thanks to the frozen fruit, and the mixture of pineapple and mango with the coconut water gives it a very tropical flavour ideal for the summer months. It tastes a bit like ice cream!
The smoothie contains 427 calories and 25g protein, so it's ideal for vegan bodybuilders although it may prove quite high in calories for those that are dieting. The full nutritional content of the smoothie is show in the video, so you can make sure it fits your macros (IIFYM). This one is much higher in calories, but has a whopping 39g protein per serving. Ideal protein shake/smoothie for post workout.
