30 DAYS OF VEGAN Tofu “Beef” Crumble Day 12 is an alternative to mince or beef, using tofu! A key ingredient in this recipe is the liquid smoke, which adds that smoky BBQ flavour (but if you don’t have it, sub for some BBQ sauce instead!). It is surprisingly straightforward and can work for bolognese, ragu, burritos, chilli, lasagne, fajitas… Prep: 5 minutes Cook: 15-20 minutes 1 block of extra firm tofu 1 tbsp olive oil 1 tbsp dark soy sauce 2 tbsp light soy sauce 1 tbsp tomato paste 1 tsp liquid smoke 1 tsp vegan Worcester sauce 1 heaped tbsp nutritional yeast 1 tsp smoked paprika 1. Crumble the tofu into a bowl (no need to press) and add the marinade ingredients. Stir to combine. 2. In a large pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the tofu with the sauce and fry for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown, stirring as you go.
