Do you want to taste something exquisite? If the answer to the question is yes then you should definitely try Chicken Bharta .One of my personal favorites ,the recipe is a bit different from other chicken recipes. The use of spices makes it even tastier.It tastes quite delicious with Roti , Paratha Or Naan. If you are looking forward to eating something delicious then definitely try this. So without further ado lets get to work. INGREDIENTS ... • Chicken – 500 gms • Chicken stock – 2 cups • Onion paste – 3 ( medium size ) • Ginger paste – 1 tsp • Garlic paste – 1tsp • Tomato paste – 2 (medium size ) • Red chilli powder – 1 tsp • Coriander powder – 1 tsp • Cumin powder - 1 tsp • Turmeric powder – 1 tsp • Cashew paste – 4 tbsp • Beaten Curd – ½ cup • kasuri methi leaves (dried fenugreek leaves )- 2 tsp • fresh cream – 4 tsp • Garam masala powder – 1 tsp • Boiled egg – 1( cut into 8 pieces ) • Chopped coriander leaves – 1 bunch • Butter – 2 tbsp • Refined oil – 2 tbsp • Ghee – 1½ tbsp • Salt – to taste TEMPERING ... • Green cardamom – 2 • Black cardamom – 1 • Cloves – 5-6 • Cinnamon stick – 1 (medium size ) • Cumin seeds – ½ tsp INGREDIENTS .... • Black cardamom - 1 • Green cardamoms- 2 • Black pepper - 8-10 corn • Refined oil – 1 tbsp • Salt – 1 tsp METHOD : • At first marinate the chicken with 1 black cardamom ,2 green cardamoms, 8-10 black pepper, 1 tbsp refined oil & salt for 3 hours . Keep aside . • After 3 hours , boil the marinated chicken pieces with 1 ½ - 2 cup water . Cover and cook them till tender in medium flame . • When the chicken pieces are fully cooked, then remove the pieces from the stock . Wait until the chicken pieces are cool . Keep aside . • Don’t throw the stock and strain it . It will need to make the gravy of bharta. • Now shred the chicken . This process is most time consuming part of this recipe . • Add 2 tbsp oil & ghee in the heated kadai & melt it in high flame . • Add tempering & slightly fry till nice aroma comes out in medium flame. • Add onion paste , ginger paste , Garlic paste , tomato paste, red chilli powder ,coriander powder , cumin powder , turmeric powder & salt ( to taste).
